Omaha/Council Bluffs Metro's only Foundation Dedicated to Human Services

At the Charles E. Lakin Foundation, Inc. our strength lies in the ideals by which we stand. Most importantly, our strength is shown through the impact realized by focusing on human services and the areas that we fund: children, families, education, training, and economic resilience. Founded by Charles E. Lakin in 1983, the Foundation was rededicated in 2016 to fulfilling his aspirations for the community through the formation of a new six member Board of Directors composed of four family members and two local community champions. The Foundation serves six counties in Southwest Iowa (Pottawattamie, Cass, Mills, Montgomery, Fremont, Page) and two counties in Nebraska (Douglas and Sarpy).
